Dee Rangers made the journey to Baconstown for their second round of the Coca Cola senior championship. Conditions on Tuesday evening were favourable for the teams who both needed a win having previously lost their first round one games. Spectators were treated to a fast paced, tense, close game.

Briona Rowe opened up the score line for Dee Rangers with a point in the third minute of the game. Na Fianna followed suit with a point. Rebecca Goodwin, fast on her feet, scored her first point in the seventh minute of the game. Samantha Martin scored her first point followed by another two points by Rebecca Goodwin. Aoife Conlon came on for an injured Shauna Sweeney who despite her injury never left the sideline encouraging her teammates. Two goals and three points by the strong Na Fianna side put Dee Rangers under serious pressure but with grit and determination they answered with two fine goals by Rebecca Goodwin in the twenty third and Sinead Carolan in the thirty fourth minute of the game. A point from Lisa Young followed. Samantha Martin was taken down in the square by the opposition which resulted in a red card and a penalty which was taken by Kelly Farrelly but saved by the Na Fianna goalie. The half time whistle blew and was welcomed by both teams.

Samantha Martin opened up the score line for the second half for Dee Rangers with a point. Rebecca Goodwin went down injured in the fifteenth minute and was replaced by Emma Halpenny. Samantha Martin was sin binned approx twenty mins into the second half resulting in fourteen players a side for the ten minutes. Na Fianna playing fast paced football scored three points. The last fifteen minutes was a tense affair with Ellen Cassidy coming on for Sinead Carolan and Orlaith Sheehy scored a fine point in the thirty first minute. The Dee Ranger defense held well preventing any further scores from Na Fianna. Sub Ellen Cassidy scored the final point of the game bringing a tough but well deserved win for Dee Rangers.
